Abstract

Traditional performing arts are arts that contain aesthetic values and adhere to customs and traditions that are presented in the form of performances. Traditional performing arts in Palembang are increasingly diminishing in existence due to technological advances and the rapid development of art. This can be seen from the large number of modern performing arts enthusiasts who are more favored by the public and young people compared to traditional performing arts. Palembang is a big city that has various kinds of traditional arts. In the city of Palembang there are facilities in the form of art performances, but the conditions are inadequate and poorly maintained. To bring back traditional performing arts, it is necessary to build facilities that support performing arts activities as a means of information, recreation, and education for the people and tourists of Palembang City. The function of this traditional performing arts center consists of main facilities such as performance space, training, art galleries, and supporting facilities that support the comfort of building users. The style of the building is designed in a neo-vernacular architectural style. Neo-vernacular architecture combines the concept of acculturated traditional style with a modern style to interpret the limas house which is a traditional building typical of Palembang City.
