Abstract

The aim of the study is determining whether there is a role of social support towar academic burnout. This study hypothesizes that there is a role of social support toward academic burnout. This study used 131 student in doing essay during the pandemic as partisipants and 30 student in doing essay during the pandemic as a trial partisipants. The sampling technique was accidental sampling. The measuring instrument that used is social support scale which refers to social support type by Sarafino and Smith (2011) and academic burnout scale that refers to academic burnout components by Schaufeli, Martinez, Pinto, Salanova, & Barker (2002). Data analysis used simple regression. The result of simple regression shows R square = 0,125, F = 28,370 and p = 0,000 (p<0,05). This means that social support has a role toward academic burnout. Thus, the hypothesis could be accepted and social support contribution toward academic burnout 12,5%.
