Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efisiensi kerja alat dan kapasitas hasil irisan gadung, kentang dan tempe dengan menggunakan mesin pengiris multi guna tipe pisau (blade) dengan gerakan bolak balik (alternating motion). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pengamatan aspek teknis dan operasional penerapan mesin pengiris multi guna tipe pisau (blade) dengan gerakan bolak balik (alternating motion) terhadap hasil irisan gadung, kentang dan tempe. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara tabulasi. Mesin pengiris multi guna tipe pisau (blade) dengan gerakan bolak balik (alternating motion) mempunyai kapasitas kerja efektif untuk pengirisan gadung, kentang dan tempe sebesar 34,81 kg/jam ; 36,9 kg/jam dan 27,11 kg/jam. Efisiensi kerja alat yang dihasilkan untuk mengiris gadung, kentang dan tempe sebesar 90,07%; 93,82% dan 83,44%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa mesin pengiris multi guna tipe pisau (blade) dengan gerakan bolak balik (alternating motion) lebih cocok digunakan untuk mengiris kentang dan gadung dibanding tempe. Persentase irisan gadung, kentang dan tempe yang termasuk hasil irisan baik adalah 90,85%; 93,73% dan 88,5%. Daya yang dibutuhkan sebesar 0,017 hp. Energi listrik yang dibutuhkan untuk mengiris 1 kg gadung, kentang dan tempe sebesar 1362,24 joule; 1283,04 joule dan 1750,32 joule
