Abstract

Geopolymer mortar is a mortar innovation that utilizes fly ash waste as the main component. Geopolymer mortar is used as an alternative to conventional mortar because it is environmentally friendly. The material used in this mixture is fly ash, fine aggregate, NaOH, Na2SiO3, and superplasticizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the ratio of fine aggregate and precursor on the characteristic of geopolymer mortar based on nano fly ash. The ratio of fine aggregate and precursor used are 2,0, 2,25, 2,5, 2,75, dan 3,0. The concentration of NaOH used was 14 M and the superplasticizer used was 3 % of the total precursor. mortar treatment was carried out by treating the oven temperature for 1 hour at a temperature. The tests carried out were testing hard mortar and fresh mortar. fresh mortar testing was carried out by setting time and hard mortar testing was carried out by testing specific gravity and compressive strength test. From the tests carried out, the result showed that the optimum compressive strength of 12,31 MPa and the specific gravity of the sample MG5-3,0 at the age of 7 days was 1430 gr/cm3, and the age of 28 days obtained the optimum compressive strength of 16,81 MPa with specific gravity 1466,70 gr/cm3. The increasing ratio of fine aggregate and precursor used can improve the characteristics of the resulting geopolymer mortar. A good mixture must be in a balanced ratio between materials so that it can produce geopolymer mortar with good quality.
