Abstract

The research objective was to study performance of mobile-type spray irrigation equipment by using technicai and investment analysis to be applied in mustard green crop cultivation. The study was conducted at Farm Machinery and Equipment Laboratory, Agricultural Technology Departement, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from May 2004 to February 2005. There were three steps used in this study that consisted of assembling and installing mobile-type spray irrigation equipment perceiving its performance, price survey and, economic analysis. The result of technicai analysis showed that the equipment had water discharge of 21.13 L minute'1 for each nozzle, whereas the equipment’s capacity was 0.4008 ha houf1 and the equipment’s efficiency was 57.58 %. The result of invesment analysis for 1 ha farm required the invesment at 29,879,300.00 rupiahs and Rp 9,261,126.95 rupiahs operating cost. Based on the value of NPV which was 31,391,604.46 rupiahs, whereas Net B/C ratio was 2.05 and [RR value was 54.55%, investment of applying mobile-type spray irrigation equipment in mustard green crop cultivation was feasible to be applied.
