Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efektivitas sudut sudu kincir angin tipe horizontal dari bahan fiberglass. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengamati sudut sudu kincir angin dengan tiga perlakuan sudut yang terdiri dari 0°, 20°, dan 40°. Selama penelitian dilakukan 10 perulangan untuk setiap sudut. Pengamatan dilakukan untuk memperoleh rpm, torsi dan tenaga yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kincir angin ini menghasilkan tenaga dipengaruhi oleh kecepatan putaran kincir, kecepatan angin dan torsi. Metode penelitian meliputi tahap pembuatan alat dan tahap pengujian alat yang dilakukan di lapangan untuk setiap perlakuan sudut sudu. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata rpm, torsi dan tenaga terendah dihasilkan pada sudut 0° yaitu 1 rpm, 0,041 mN dan 0 hp (Lampiran 14) sedangkan rpm, torsi dan tenaga tertinggi dihasilkan pada sudut 40° yaitu 284 ipm, 0,242 mN 0,0045 hp (Lampiran 16).
