Abstract

Using organic waste as raw materials for making organic fertilization enable our surrounding become clean, exquisite, and hygienic. Furthermore, the decomposition product can be use to enhance the plant growth and improve soil fertility. Moreover, the materials from farmland surrounding such as straw, grass, husk, animal waste, as well as organic market waste can be made into bokashi fertilizer. Bokashi fertilizer is the outcome of organic fermentation using EM-4 technology that contains microorganism in solution form. Bokashi fertilizer are use for pakcoy's (Brassica rapa L.) planting medium. This study aims to determine the effect of food waste bokashi, banana waste bokashi, manure and NPK fertilizer on pakcoy's growth as planting medium as well as to find out the comparison of its effectiveness in enhancing the plant growth. This study is carried out by making bokashi, collecting data and analysis of data using ANOVA followed by duncan test with 5% of error. The observed parameters are plant height (cm), number of leaves (strand), wet weight (gram), and test for NPK content in bokashi. The result of this study indicate that the banana waste bokashi has significant influence on stem height, number of leaves, and wet weight of pakcoy. Banana waste bokashi has better ability to enhance plant growth in comparison with NPK fertilizer.
