Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the performance of the elbow type blade on the modified power thresher of the results of chopping on plants. This research was conducted from August 2018 until January 2019 at Workshop of Agriculture Regency of South Sumatera and Machinery Workshop of Agricultural Technology Department, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University. The method used was engineering design. This research used three materials and was repeated five times. Pesentation of data used tables, images and graphs. The parameters of this research were the machine effective capacity, the chopping uniformity, and fuel consumption. The results of this research showed that the highest effective capacity was got at straw that is 22. 62 kg/hour. The highest percentage of yield is straw at 75.8%. The percentage of uniformity of enumeration results in the size of 2-5 cm highest on oil palm leaves by 63.29%. The highest fuel consumption is in the elephant grass enumeration of 1.49 liters/hour.
