Abstract
This study discusses the form of cultural change which occurs on Kejei dance of Rejang tribe since 1968-2005. This study intends to find out the form of cultural change which occurs in Kejei dance and to explain about Kejei dance before experiences change and to discuss the reason for the change in Kejei dance. This study used historical research method through several stages among others: heuristic, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data collection carried out using literature review, observation, and interview to the cultural expert in Rejang Lebong district. This study used anthropological and social approaches. After the whole series of research was conducted, the research result indicates that actually not all aspects of the Kejei dance experiencing changes. The changes only occurred on the dance function, time and place, prepared offerings, musical instruments, and clothing worn. The cultural change in Kejei dance happened because this dance adapts to the current development so it is not forgotten and exist within the life of the Rejang tribe. Other factors that causing the change in Kejei dance are economic factors and technological development. Keywords: Change, Culture, Kejei Dance, Rejang Tribe, Rejang Lebong District.
