Abstract

The tittle of this thesis is "Prabumulih during the Physical Revolution Period 1945-1949". The aim of this research is to know exactly what the conditions and efforts of the Prabumulih people have been when they struggled to defend their independence from the Dutch desire to regain control of Indonesia. This research was conducted from May 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020 in the Prabumulih area using historical methods or historical methods using data collection techniques in literature studies and with interview techniques obtained from the veteran chairman in Prabumulih. From the research that has been done, there is a result which can prove that Prabumulih played a role in facing the Dutch in the event to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. This incident started oil diplomacy, then the 1st Dutch Military Aggression attack in 1947 was then confronted again with Prabumulih's Counterattack. In this incident the people of Prabumulih (security agency, youth and society) fought against Dutch troops in order to defend Indonesia's independence. In this case, there are so many fighters who move voluntarily for the sake of the country without coercion from other parties. The struggle carried out by the Prabumulih people was carried out in various ways, namely by direct confrontation and diplomacy. This effort was successful even though the Dutch easily entered Prabumulih and controlled Prabumulih's territory. So that the effort ended with the Round Table Conference (KMB) in 1949 which aimed to resolve the problems between Indonesia and the Netherlands until finally the handover of Indonesian independence sovereignty in Prabumulih.
