Abstract

Drift Gillnet is one of equipment fish catch which has net as its main componenL Activityof fishery catching small pelagic in Sungsang sea water isone of life resource (financial resource) for the fisher. Information of the composition of small pelagic fish result captur using drif gillnet are not much. Titis research has been done in Alang Enteng seawater (station I) and palu (station II) in Sungsang seawater on January 24 - 27, 2008. the airns of titis research were to know the cmposition of small pelagic fish result capture using drift gillnet especially in Sungsang seawater of South Sumatera. The final result of the research shown that the amount of small pelagic fish result capture in station I are less than station II. It is caused by physics measurement such astcurrent velocity. The amount pelagic fish which was caught on t/tis research consist nine kinds of pelagic fish species and 189 fishes which caugh only 5 species such as Gulama(Scianidae) 9%, Permata (Ilisha megaloptera) 4%, Senangin(Elheutheronema) 25%, Tenggiri (Scomberomorus guttatus) 17% ,Gerot - gerot (Pomadays sp) 13% , Kakap (Lates calcarifer) 8%, Parang - parang (Chirocentrus sp) 9%, Layur (Tcichiurus sp) 1% , dan Talang - talang (Cltorinemus sp) 14%.
