Abstract

The research is about conceming community and mollusc association at mangrove ecosystem in Gilimanuk Bay, National Park of West Bali, and Bali Province divided into six stations. This research target is to know the composition and pattem of spreading of mollusc community especially gastropod and bivalve and know the mollusc association at mangrove ecosystem in seaboard of Gilimanuk Bay, National Park of West Bali, and Bali Province on 13-19 March 2006. These data concentrate on environmental water factors. soil factors and mollusc. The results of this research showed that the value of water environmental factors is good for the continuity life of mollusc. Based on the results of the species identification, there were composition of mollusc with 17 family and 31 species of mollusc, 11 family and 23 species of gastropod, and also 6 family and 8 species of bivalve found in the research area. Gastropod predominate the mollusc density with the value 2.258.333 ind/ ha especially type of Batillaria zonalis. And for the bivalve were dominated by Laternula truncata. The values of diversity index in all area are medium and for the values of similarity index were found that there is no domination of species in all station except station 2. The diversity values of mollusc in station 2 are low with the similarity level is also low so there is a species predominating. The mollusc Spreading pattem forms the uniform structure. Positive association happened between mollusc and mangrove as place to live, foraging and multiplying. The negative association is also happened between mollusc species (gastropod and bivalve) except to species of Batillaria zonalis, this matter is assumed happened by the competition in exploiting resource mangrove as place to live and multiply, while association between the gastropod have the positive character equal to 66,67 % and negative association equal to 33,33 % and also the existence of species unionizing minor and major, and there are no association that happened between bivalve species.
