Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui produksi gas silase jerami sorgum sebagai pakan sapi potong. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2018 di Laboratorium Nutrisi Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Pertanian Jurusan Teknologi dan Industri Peternakan Program Studi Peternakan Universitas Sriwijaya Indralaya. Penelitian dilakukan secara in vitro dengan metode eksperimental yang dimodifikasi oleh Abrar et al. (2015) dan kemudian data dianalisis dengan Uji T (stelldanTorrie, 1995) dengan 2perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan diulang 5 kali. Bahan yang digunakan jerami sorgum dan silase jerami sorgum sebagai olahanya. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah produksi gas, konsentrasi gas metana secara in vitro. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya perbedaan yang nyata pada taraf 5% dari produksi gas yang dihasilkan namun tidak berbeda nyata pada hasil konsentrasi metana yang didapat dari penelitian ini.
