Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of T. harizanumin control Fusarium wilt disease in chili and to determine the ability to suppress disease in polybag chili. A randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 3 treatments and 5 replications each consisting of 4 cayenne pepper plants was used in this study. The parameters observed were incubation period, intensity of attack on stems and fruit, percentage of attack. This research was carried out at the Experimental Field of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from November to January 2021. The results showed that Fusarium first appeared on the outer part of the younger leaves followed by drooping leaves. In the seedling stage, infected plants may wilt and die after symptoms appear. In older leaves, stunting occurs, yellowing of the undersides, wilting of young leaves and stems, necrosis and eventually death of the entire plant. Effect of administration of T. harizanum on prevention of Fusarium wilt disease by F. oxysporum on cayenne pepper. The Trichoderma treatment was obtained at least compared to the control and fungicide treatment and Trichoderma was able to suppress the growth of F. oxysporum disease but was not significantly different because the cayenne pepper plants still died and harvest failure. In each treatment using Control, Trichoderma and chili fungicides which were applied to F. oxysporum disease, different results were obtained every week and there was a continuous increase in each treatment
