Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the performance of water level logger data by using solar panel as energy source. This research was conducted at Laboratory of Energy and Electrification, Department of Agricultural Technology, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University, South Sumatera from September to December 2017. The research used experimental method, and the results were presented using tables and graphs. The method was consisted of some stages namely literature study, observation, field data, planning and calculation, tool and material preparation, and tool test. The observation parameters were solar panel power, fill factor and solar panel efficiency. The results showed that the energy available on the battery was 72 Wh. The need for data logger is 0.96 W. The battery could provide energy for data logger for 75 hours. The average efficiency of solar panels was 28 %. Power derived from solar panel energy received by solar panels and converted into electrical power was 3.80 W. The time required to charge the battereries from the solar panel was 18 hours.
