Abstract

The research about “Potential Test and Synergism of Biosurfactant-Producing Petrophilic Bacteria from A bando n Well for Technology Development of MEOR {Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery)” had been done on December 2013 until February 2014 at Laboratory of Microbiology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Sriwijaya. This research aimed to know potency and synergism of eight petrophilic bacteria to be applied for technology MEOR. Design of experiments applied is Randomly Selected Group Design (RSG Factorial) with two types of treatment such as: bacteria (Bacillus firmus, Brevundimonas diminuta, Burkholderia glumae, P.acidovorans, P.aeruginosa, P.citronellolis, P.fluorescens, dan P.peli.) and temperature (30°C, 37°C, 44°C, dan 51°C). Each treatment combination was repeated twice to obtain 64 experimental units. Variable observations in this research are the diameter of clear zone and interaction among bacteria. Data such as diameter of clear zone were analyzed by using Analysis of Variance, if there were significant will be continued with Duncan New Multiple Range Tesi at 5% level. The results of this study showed the formation of clear zone as biosurfactant indicator is influenced by temperature. Brevundimonas diminuta and P.peli have superior potency in the formation of clear zone in hemolysis test when compared to other bacteria with an average diameter of clear zone 26,805 mm and 26,040 mm at 44°C. Based on the synergism that had been done, known there are three kinds of bacteria with high synergism percentage at 50% in this research such as P.fluorescens, P.citronellolis, and Brevundimonas diminuta can be synergised with 4 kinds of bacteria.
