Abstract

The researched about the adsorption of chitin and chitosan to red dye in the songket industry liquid waste. In this research parameter has been looking for optimum condition, they were adsorben weight, contact time, and pH. The result of research showed that the optimum adsorption of chitin happened on weight 0.8 g, contact time 90 minutes, and pH 8 with weight red procion adsorption 2.114 mg. Indeed in chitosan, optimum adsorption chitosan happened in weight 0.9 g, contact time 150 minutes and pH 6 with weight red procion adsorption 2.213 mg. Application in liquid waste with optimum condition showed got chitin adsorbed was 64,549.72 mg with adsorption efectivity 33.47 %. Inded in chitosan adsorbed was 123,893.80 mg/g with adsorption effectivity 46,37 %.
