Abstract

This study examines and examines the social solidarity of the people of Gunung Ibul Village, Prabumulih City during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to find out and analyze how social solidarity is in the community of Gunung Ibul Village, Prabumulih City during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with purposive selection of informants. The informants in this study amounted to 6 (six) people who were residents of Gunung Ibul Village, Prabumulih City. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses the theory of social solidarity from Emile Durkheim. The results of this study indicate that there is a change in the people of Gunung Ibul Village reflecting the characteristics of a society with organic solidarity. They are united because of an emotional experience and a common goal in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. They need each other to jointly face the situation and conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic by making several efforts, namely spraying disinfectants, making hand washing stations, and helping patients self-isolate. With the aim of minimizing the spread of the virus and making their environment free from the Covid-19 virus. So it can be seen that they are united because of a sense of mutual need to meet the needs of common interests. Keywords : Social Solidarity, Covid-19 Pandemic, Society
