Abstract
A depsidone compound was isolated from ethyl acetate ffaction of asam kandis fruits (Garcinia cowa). The extraction was done by maceration method and separation and purification of isolated compound was conducted by chromatographic technique. Antioxidant activity of Isolated compound was done by DPPH method. Isolated compound is white powder with melting point 163-164 °C. The structure of this compound was determined based on spectroscopic data such as including UY, IR, NMR 1-D and 2-D and based on spectral data analysis could be concluded that isolated compound is depsidone group that is 1,3,7 trihydroxy-8-methoxy-2, 9 - (3 methybut-2-enyl) depsidone and active antioxidant with assigns value IC5014,80 pg/mL.
