Abstract

Isolasi, Karakterisasi, Identifikasi Mikroalga Yang Berpotensi Mendegradasi Senyawa Hidrokarbon dari Area Tercemar Limbah Minyak Bumi PT. PERTAMINA UBEP Limau Prabumulih, Sumatera Selatan dilaksanakan pada bulan April-Desember 2009, di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Laboratorium Fisiologi Tumbuhan, Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Inderalaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan isolat mikroalga yang mampu bertahan hidup di area tercemar limbah minyak bumi dan berpotensi mendegradasi hidrokarbon minyak serta mengidentifikasi berdasarkan karakter yang dimilikinya. Sampel diambil dari 6 stasiun di area penyimpanan limbah sementara, 3 dari kolam limbah dalam bentuk air dan 3 stasiun lainnya dari tanah. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu diperoleh 6 isolat mikroalga yang berpotensi mendegradasi hidrokarbon minyak bumi. Keenam isolat tersebut yaitu Gleocapsa, Oscillatoria, Merismopedia, Chlorella, Scenedesmus, dan Navicula. Genus Gleocapsa memiliki nilai persentase tertinggi dalam potensi menurunkan 2,5% TPH limbah minyak bumi yaitu 24,21% sedangkan genus Navicula memiliki nilai persentase terendah yaitu 12,29%.
