Abstract

Health communication is the delivery of health messages from communicators through certain media to communicants to influence and motivate individuals, institutions, and the public about important issues related to achieving prosperity. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. The sample in this study were 60 pregnant women who were diagnosed with mild preeclampsia and treated using BPJS at Kayuagung Regional General Hospital. By using the health communication theory of Alo Liliweri that has six dimensions. Each dimension gets different results. In the information relay dimension, the proportion is 83.1%, the dimension enabling informed decision making is 83%, the promoting peer information exchange and the emotional support dimension is 80.1%, the promoting healthy behavior dimension is 80%, the dimension is improving care. Self-obtained a proportion of 79.1% and the managing demand for health services dimension obtained a percentage of 78.5%. On the conveying information, activating appropriate decision making, and encouraging the exchange of peer information and emotional dimension support to reach the “very high” category and on the dimension of promoting healthy behavior, promoting self-care, and managing requests for health communication health services at Kayuagung Regional General Hospital has been implemented effectively.
