Abstract

Antioxidant activity of ethyl acetate extract of Mangosteene husk (Garcinia mangostana L.) and Secang wood (Caesalpinia sappan L.) and its combination have been studied by 1,1 difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) methode. The best mixture for colour was combination 1:2 (Mf.Sa) and have been tasted for its colour stability. The parameter were influence pH, stability to oksidator, light of UV, time and warm-up temperature, and also temperature of during depository with measuring its absorbance at max 440 nm. The result indicate that antioxidant activity ethyl acetate extract of Mangosteene husk more active than ethyl acetate extract of Secang wood with IC50 14,1882 ppm. This ethyl acetate extract Mangosteene husk is proportional almost with the Standard antioxidant of askorbat acid giving IC50 15,3769 ppm. The best combination mixture ethyl acetate extract of Secang wood and Mangosteene husk is combination 1:1 (Mi:Si). At this combination radical inhibition was 96% with IC50 17,6791 ppm. All the treatment effect the intensity of colour. The colour change firom yellow to orange (dark orange). Percentace of absorbance colour change were 26% for oxidator effect, 34% for UV effect at dark bottle, 35% for cold temperature, 97% for UV effect at transparent bottle, and 93% at room temperature. Ethyl acetate extract of Mangosteen husk and Secang wood contain the pigment which have antioxidant potency.
