Abstract

This study examines the personality of the main character in the novel Dilan, Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Research data sourced from novel Dilan, Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq. In analyzing data using psychoanalytic theory Carl Gustav Jung. The steps are as follows: (1) identifying data on the main character's personality using Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic theory. (2) classifying the data that has been obtained. (3) analyzing the character's personality according to Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic theory, and (4) concluding the results of the analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that personality includes two directions, namely awareness and unconsciousness. The personality of the main character in the novel Dilan, Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq is based on awareness, which is seen from the function of the soul, Dilan and Milea's personalities are feelings as evidenced by their optimistic nature in making decisions, emotional and volatile feelings. Meanwhile, in terms of mental attitude, Dilan and Milea have extroverted personalities, namely open to others, easy to socialize with people around them and care about others. Based on the unconscious which is divided into two, namely the personal unconscious, Dilan and Milea have thinker-type personalities as evidenced by their characteristics, namely curiosity and impatience. Meanwhile, Dilan and Milea's collective unconscious have an intuitive personality type as evidenced by their courageous and confident nature.
