Abstract

The white sweet potatoes that have a tuber shape are generally round, the skin surface is uneven, and the tuber flesh is tougher and tastes sweeter. This research was conducted to determine the effect of organic fertilizers consisting of Cow Manure, Empty Oil Palm Bunches, Vegetable Waste Organic Liquid Fertilizer added into planting media on the growth and production of white sweet potatoes. This research was conducted from August 2021 to December 2021 in Bukit Lama, Palembang, with the following location: (3° 00' 10.5" S, 104° '26.6" E). There were 4 types of organic fertilizer used and mixed into planting media, (namely A = Soil (1) + Cow Manure (1), B = Soil (1) + Empty Oil Palm Bunches (1), C = Soil (1) + Cow Manure (1) + Vegetable Waste Organic Liquid Fertilizer, and D = Soil (1) + Empty Oil Palm Bunches (1) + Vegetable Waste Organic Liquid Fertilizer. This study used a randomized block design. The most significant planting media that gave the best effect on the growth and production of white sweet potatoes was cow manure (A). The effect of cow manure, whether added with waste vegetable waste organic liquid fertilizer or not, has a better effect than empty oil palm bunches. The application of vegetable waste organic liquid fertilizer has a deficiency in the production of white sweet potatoes.
