Abstract

Problems with Ultisols are high levels of acidity and low nutrient content, which need to be overcome by providing organic and inorganic fertilizers. Red chili is one type of vegetable that is quite important in Indonesia, both as a commodity consumed domestically and as an export commodity. Liquid Organic Fertilizer contains nitrogen fixing microorganisms, phosphate solvents and potassium solvents. This study aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer application and inorganic fertilizer dosage in supporting growth and production to obtain the best method of organic fertilizer application and inorganic fertilizer dosage to support the growth of red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) production and to study the correlation between plant growth and production. red chili on Ultisol in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research was carried out from July 2021 to December 2021 at the Experimental Garden of Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir. The design used in this study was a randomized block design with 9 levels of treatment which was repeated 3 times so that there were 27 experimental units. The research data were analyzed using ANOVA at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the treatment of liquid organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers had a significant effect on plant height 4 WAP, plant branches 3 WAP, and harvested fruit weight 1 to 9. the correlation between productive branch 11 MST and production was quite negative. Meanwhile, the correlation between the number of fruits and the production is very positive. The results of this study suggest that the cultivation of red chili plants with the application of organic fertilizer to seeds and soil is a treatment that tends to be good in increasing plant growth and production.
