Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh latihan lempar tangkap medicine ball terhadap hasil tolak peluru gaya menyamping pada siswa putra ekstrakurikuler di SMP Negeri 10 Prabumulih. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Pengambilan data dilakukan di SMP Negeri 10 Prabumulih, dengan sampel 15 orang siswa putra ektrakurikuler untuk kelas kontrol, dan 15 siswa putra ektrakurikuler untuk kelas eksperimen. Data yang diambil berupa hasil tolak peluru siswa dari kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Hasil pretest rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 5,37 meter dan posttest rata-rata kelompok kontrol 5,21 meter dengan rata-rata penurunan 0,16 meter. Hasil nilai pretest rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 5,32 meter dan posttest rata-rata untuk kelompok eksperimen adalah 5,63 meter dengan rata-rata peningkatan 0,31 meter (5,51%). Hal ini menunjukan bahwa latihan lempar tangkap medicine ball dapat meningkatkan hasil tolak peluru gaya menyamping siswa putra ekstrakurikuler SMP Negeri 10 Prabumulih.
