Abstract

PDAM (Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum) is a company whose job is to distribute clean water to the people in Indonesia. In everyday life, people usually do not monitor the amount of water used. One of the reasons is the PDAM water meter which is still analog, making it difficult for some people to know the amount of water usage. The purpose of this study is to design a prototype using an IoT system to monitor the amount of user water usage and to design a warning system for the excessive amount of PDAM water usage. This design utilizes several components including NodeMCU ESP8266, YF-S201 water flow sensor, buzzer, potentiometer, push button, LCD and blynk application. From the results of the tests that have been carried out, all components have worked as desired. When the water flow sensor is filled with water, the discharge value and water volume are directly displayed on the LCD and flash. The water volume measurement has a deviation percentage of 10.91%. The warning system for the excessive amount of PDAM water usage has worked well because when the water volume value is greater than the water volume limit, the buzzer immediately turns on and the blynk successfully sends notifications and emails to users. When the water volume is reset to 0 Liters, the water volume that was previously reset is successfully sent to the user's email.
