Abstract

This study aims to find out how interested in learning chemistry and what are the obstacles to online learning on covalent bonding material in class X SMAN 10 Palembang. This research is quantitative descriptive. The population of this study were students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 10 Palembang. The research sample used in the study was 88 students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 10 Palembang based on the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire with 6 indicators of student interest and learning constraints towards online learning on covalent bonding material, namely feelings of pleasure, interest, involvement, internet access speed, internet access costs, and learning motivation. The results showed that students' interest in learning chemistry towards online learning was 5% in the high category, 34% in the medium category and 61% in the low category. The results of the study based on indicators of student learning barriers to online learning on covalent bond material found that students quickly felt bored, bored and not enthusiastic about learning online, network limitations and no support from parents. The conclusion of this study is that the interest in learning of class X MIA SMAN 10 Palembang towards online learning on covalent bonding material is low.
