Abstract

PT Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk is a company engaged in coal mining. Blasting activity at Tambang Air Laya Barat PT Bukit Asam is ineffective because of high cost. Blasting geometry is an important thing in blasting, which it will affect on blasting cost and fragmentation. Blasting geometry data resulted by determined directly in field using by gauge, such as determined burden, spacing, and deep blast hole. The average actual blasting geometry is burden 6.93 m, spacing 7.97 m, deep diameter is 6,75 inch, deep blast hole 7,34 m, powder charge 2,34 m, stemming 4,67 m, subdrilling 1,39 m, bench height 5,96 m, total hole 67 hole. Powder factor resulted is 0.16 kg/bcm, this number is exceed the standard of powder factor (0.11-0.14 kg/bcm), and blasting cost is Rp.1303/bcm. According to split desktop 2.0 demo, rock size fragmentation that exceed 100 cm is 16.05 %, and digging time hydraulic loading excavator Komatsu PC 2000 is 11.09 seconds, it is below the standard of maximum digging time that applied. According to recommendation of blasting geometry with ICI-Explosive, powder factor resulted is 0.13 kg/bcm, and blasting cost is Rp. 1090/bcm, this cost is below the actual. This powder factor will affect on fragmentation. According to statistic method with linier regretion, rock fragmentation that exceed 100 cm is 20,96 %, which digging time prediction hydraulic loading excavator Komatsu PC 2000 is 11,74 seconds, it is below the standard of maximum digging time that applied. Blasting geometry recommendation with ICI-Explosive that will be applied is burden 6.86 m, spacing 8.92 m, deep blast hole 7.87 m, diameter 6.75 inch, stemming 5.14 m, subdrilling 1.37 m, powder charge 2.73 and bench height 6.5 m , and total hole 60 hole.
