Abstract

The study was aimed at knowing and studying the effect of the variations In degree of curvature coated with copper plate on ultisol soil cultivation result. The research was carried out in the Practicum and Research Garden at Faculty of Agriculture of Sriwijaya University. The method used was Factorial Randomized Block Design which consist two treatment factors, namely of upholstery (A) and degree of curvature of the plow (B). The upholstery consists of two levels without upholstery and coated with copper plate. Degree of curvature consists of three level namely 120o, 130o, dan 140o. The parameters in use are of primary parameters and support parameters. The primary parameters used are soil stickiness, moldboard working depth , height of plowed soil, moldboard cutting width, and inverted land width. The support parameters used are soil water content, bulk density, and wheel slip. Research shows that upholstery and degree of curvature of the flow significantly affected the yield of ultisol soil tillage. Combination treatment upholstery copper plate and degree of curvature of the flow 140o producing the lowest average soil stickiness of 3,86 gram. While combination treatment upholstery copper plate and degree of curvature of the flow 120o producing the lowest average moldboard working depth , height of plowed soil, moldboard cutting width, and highest inverted land width was 12 cm, 10.67 cm, 15.67 cm and 20.67 cm.
