Abstract

PT. Duta Alam Sumatera (DAS) is located in Desa Payo, Desa Sukamarga, Desa Tanjung Pinang and Desa Tanjung Baru, Kecamatan Merapi Barat, Kabupaten Lahat. PT. DAS has set a coal target production for 1.200.000 tons .Efforts to meet the production targets require PT. DAS makes a new mining sequence plan on the DAS pit which is the research area. The average stripping ratio which is allowed by the company is 5.5: 1 in reaching the specified production targets. it is require the technical design of the coal mining sequence, including the safe pit limit design and the appropriate stripping ratio, pit planning secure annuals with sufficient reserves for the fulfillment of annual production targets, the disposal area planning to accommodate annual overburden pit volumes, as well as an estimate of the number of loading and transport equipment required to support the achievement of annual coal production targets from the pit which is planned. The pit design was made using the 4.119 minescape software, the geometry of the slope was designed using the geotechnical recommendation of PT. DAS. The need for loading and equiepment is considering the predicted cycle time obtained from the processing of real time cycles data of loading equipments to know the prediction of equipment productivity with average hauling distance in each annual pit design with the assumption of average speed equal to the real speed of the hauling wequipments. The type of loading and hauling equipments is used based on the type of equipment that is being realized in the field. The research produces a pit limit of DAS Pit with a total coal reserve of 5,779,411 tons, overburden 31,909,854 BCM and an opening area of 78.04 Ha. Geometry of the slope is designed according to geotechnical recommendations and adapted to the type of digging equipments, obtained 10 m high slope, 5 m wide safety bench, 45o overall slope. Based on the annual coal production target with 10% assumption coal loses, the pit limit design of life time is 4.82 years. The annual mining pit sequence is made with the direction of mining progress following the dip and coal strike direction, the annual pit mining step is 5 sequences. Disposal is designed at the location around the mining area, in the first year of the disposal is in the east of the mining pit and in the second year has begun to do inpit dump activity. The type of loading equipments used is excavator backhoe Komatsu PC 400 for coal mining activities and excavator backhoe Komatsu PC800 for overburden removal activities. The type of hauling equipments used is UD Truck CWB dump truck for coal hauling activities and Heavy dump 465 for overburden hauling activities. The number of loading equipments required to support the annual production targets in the DAS Pit are: 4 units for the 1st year sequence and 5 units for the 2nd to 5th year sequences. The number of hauling equipments required to support the annual production targets in the DAS pit are: 20 units in year 1, 25 units in year 2 to year 4 and 26 units in year 5.
