Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of the family in the moral formation of children aged (2-3) years in Kandis II Village, Kandis District, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis used is Miles and Huberman qualitative data analysis, namely collecting data from interviews, observations, and documentation then reducing the data obtained from the field, presenting the data in the form of a short narrative and drawing conclusions and the validity of the data used is triangulation technique. This study used three research subjects, namely families with children aged (2-3) years in Kandis II Village, Kandis District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The results of the study indicate that in the formation of children's morals, the family acts as a role model, mentor/companion, advisor, and the family does the habituation. Morals that are given by example, guided, given advice, and made habituation by the family to children are saying good and polite, worshiping Allah SWT, being honest, sharing, being kind to people around, saying greetings when entering or leaving the house and answering greetings, being friendly, apologize if wrong, and say thank you.
