Abstract

Adjustments to daily nutritional intake and eating habits have a major impact on weight management. To lose weight, the daily energy expenditure must be greater than the energy intake consumed. There are many ways to lose weight, one of which is by following diet trends. One of the most popular diets is the ketogenic diet. Nutritional knowledge is important in food selection. Nutritional knowledge is important in food selection. The availability and selection of foodstuffs greatly affect the quality of an individual's diet, which is related to aspects of nutritional knowledge. There are several factors that can affect the quality of the diet, including knowledge of nutrition, education, employment, and the influence of social media. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between nutritional knowledge and diet quality among members of the Indonesian Ketogenic Group. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample of this study were members of the Indonesian Ketogenic Group on Facebook and totaled 121 respondents. The calculation of the number of samples used the hypothesis test formula with two different proportions. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate. The bivariate analysis used in this study is the Chi-Square test. The results of this study indicate that the nutritional knowledge variable (p-value = 0.000) and the influence of social media (p-value = 0.047) are related to diet quality, while the education and occupational variables are not related. Based on the research results, it is expected that respondents who have less nutritional knowledge can further increase their knowledge because good nutritional knowledge affects food selection, diet quality and good health conditions.
