Abstract

This research is a development research that aims to produce a practical guide based on green chemistry material on the effect of catalysts on reaction rates that is valid, practical and effective. This research was carried out at the Chemical Education Laboratory of the Faculty of Education, Sriwijaya University. This study uses the ADDIE development model which is modified by formative tessmer evaluation (self evaluation, expert review, one to one, small group and field test). Data collection techniques used are walkthrough, questionnaire and observation. Data analysis techniques in the form of validation data analysis, questionnaires, practicum performance. The results of the study are as follows. The validity test at the expert review for the pedagogic aspect obtained a value of 0.85 (high), material aspect 0.75 (high), design aspect 0.89 (high) with the average Aiken coefficient value of the three aspects of 0.83 high category. The average practicality value at the one to one is 0.98 very high category, while at the small group is 0.97 very high category based on the kappa moment category. The effectiveness of practicum instructions is seen from the results at the field test based on the performance value and student skills in practicum activities. The student's performance score is 91.59 in very good category. The student's skill score is 70.11% in the highly skilled category, 25.66% in the skilled category, 2.91% in the less skilled category and 1.06% in the unskilled category. The results showed that the practical instructions for the material on the effect of catalysts on the rate of reactions based on green chemistry developed had met the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective. The developed practical instructions can be applied to the basic chemistry learning process and further research is developed on other materials.
