Abstract

Everyone has different facial skin, therefore a system is needed to help and make it easier for someone to know the type and treatment of facial skin. Thus, an expert system can be a solution in determining the type and treatment of facial skin based on the characteristics of the skin experienced. This expert system uses a combination of Naïve Bayes and Certainty Factor methods. The Naïve Bayes method is a method for calculating the probability of an event based on previous events and this method has the disadvantage that it cannot show the degree of confidence in the detection results, to cover this deficiency, this method is combined with the Certainty Factor method. The Certainty Factor method provides a percentage value of confidence in the results of the skin type detection. The data used in this study were 150 respondents who did not know the type of skin then the data was divided into two tests, namely 50 test data and 100 test data. The test is carried out by comparing the diagnostic results from the expert with the diagnostic results carried out by the system where from 50 test data carried out the results obtained an accuracy of 100% while from 100 also obtained an accuracy result of 96%. This shows that the results of the diagnosis made by the system are very effective.
