Abstract

The development of technology, especially social networks or better known as social media, must have an impact in the world of education, especially in universities. Therefore, this study aims to prove the effect of active use of social media on student achievement in Economics Education FKIP Sriwijaya University Batch 2019. The research method used in writing this thesis is to use quantitative methods. And to conduct this research, the things to do are: First, retrieval and collection of library data through books, journals, and online theses related to titles that are in accordance with this thesis. Second, conducting field observations by distributing closed questionnaires to 2019 Class Economics Education students as respondents. The conclusions of this paper are: Learning achievement is something that has been achieved, and is obtained in following the learning process. So from the results of the correlation coefficient between the activity of using social media on student learning achievement is -0.0064. From these results it can be concluded that there is a negative effect or correlation of activity using social media on learning achievement. This means that the more active students use social media, the smaller their learning achievement. Keywords: Social Media, Learning Achievement, Activity, Economics Education Student
