Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using web-blogs as a medium for learning the respiratory system on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Prabumulih. This research is an experimental study using the Quasi Experimental Design method and using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design design where in this design there are two classes that are given different treatments. The experimental class was given a web-blog media and the control class was given the learning media commonly used by the teacher, which would then be given a posttest to determine student learning outcomes after getting different treatments. The objects in this study were students of class XI IPA 1 and class XI IPA 3 students of SMA Negeri 2 Prabumulih in the academic year 2022/2023. Based on the research results obtained indicate that: The provision of web-blog learning media on student learning outcomes is higher than learning using media which is usually used in SMA Negeri 2 Prabumulih. This can be seen from the average posttest value of the experimental class of 79.42 while the average posttest value of the control class is 71.52 with the effect that occurs due to interest in the use of web-blogs (83.2). Hypothesis testing carried out using the ANCOVA test got the results of sig = 0.000 (level <0.05), which means that there is an effect of using web-blogs as a medium for learning the respiratory system on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Prabumulih. After the n-gain test, the average n-gain value for the experimental group was 0.64 (medium) and the average n-gain value for the control group was 0.49 (medium). Based on the results of the study that the use of this web-blog has a very significant effect on improving learning outcomes.
