Abstract

Normalization in Sungai Pasir village, Cengal sub-district, OKI district aims to overcome flooding that occurs in the secondary drain. Sungai Pasir village has a channel that is unable to accommodate the incoming flood discharge, resulting in an overflow that can affect the quality of rice yields. This research was conducted utilizing hydrological analysis and hydraulics analysis. The results of the research based on hydrological analysis with a suitability test concluded that the distribution that will be used for the planned rainfall is the Gumbel distribution because it has the smallest max value of 0.15 of all distributions. The calculation of the flood discharge used is a 1-year re-discharge and a 5-year re-discharge. The flood discharge for the 1-year return period is 2.13 m3/s, while for the 5-year return period it is 4.71 m3/s. The calculation using hydraulics analysis begins with the HEC-RAS analysis to see the overflow condition of the existing channel. Then normalization is carried out based on the discharge period of 1 year and 5 years, resulting in two different channel dimensions. After calculating with HEC-RAS, it is known that the channel analyzed with 1-year flood discharge is still overflowing, but the channel analyzed with 5-year discharge does not experience overflow. So it is concluded that the normalized channel dimensions are based on calculations using a 5-year discharge period so that the planned channel can work optimally.
