Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify and study the growth and yield characteristics of plants with respect to various concentrations of N and P fertilizers cultivated with a floating farming system. The research was carried out at Embung, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra from August to December 2021. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 8 treatments, each treatment consisted of 3 plants and there were 3 replications, so the total plants were 72 plants. The seeds used were rice variety IR-42. The treatment doses of N and P fertilizers consisted of P1 = 0.34 g N and 0.45 g P/plant, P2 = 0.34 g N and 0.90 g P/plant, P3 = 0.68 g N and 0, 45 g P/plant, P4 = 0.68 g N and 0.90 g P/plant, P5 = 1.02 g N and 0.45 g P/plant, P6 = 1.02 g N and 0.90 g P/plant, P7 = 1.36 g N and 0.45 g P/plant, P8 = 1.36 g N and 0.90 g P/plant. Parameters observed included plant height, leaf greenness, harvest age, number of tillers per hill, number of panicles per hill, panicle length, number of grain per hill, weight of grain per hill, weight of 100 grains, percent empty grain. Based on research results, it was shown that the application of N and P fertilizers at a dose of P4 = 0.68 g N and 0.90 g P/plant or N 245 kg ha-1 and P fertilizers 324 kg ha-1 P was the best treatment. The best parameters were panicle length, grain weight, and weight of 100 grains.
