Abstract

PT. Bima Putra Abadi Citranusa is a coal mining company in Lahat, South Sumatra that using open pit method. The current mining activity hampered because of overflowing sump so it is necessary to re-planning the drainage system. Based on the analysis amount of water entering the mine is 14.367,75 m3/day with a catchment area of 60.25Ha. The incoming water consists of runoff water of 14,393.88 m3/day, ground water of 66.3992 m3/day, and evapotranspiration of 92,13 m3/day. Based on the regulations in Kepmen 1827K the planned volume of sump is 45,258.50 m3. The planned sump has a surface dimension of 101m and a base of 91m. The pumping planned with 2 DND-150 pumps with a discharge of 462 m3/hour each, with 16 hours pumping time divided into 2 shifts and a total head of 71,651m with an efficiency approaching 75%. The open channel dimensions are 0.88m in surface width, 0.4m for flow depth, 0.46m for channel depth and the bottom surface width with the slope of the channel is 0.025%. The planned settling pond form is trapezoid with a rectangular base with a total volume of 7.183,879m3 divided into 6 compartments. The volume of each compartment is 1.198,313m3. The dimensions of the planned settling pond are 34m for the top width, 27m for the bottom width, 132m for the top length and 120m for the bottom length with the top and bottom widths of each compartment are 17m and 11m and the width of the insulation is 5m.
