Abstract

Violent behavior is a condition in which a person performs actions that can be physically harmful, both to himself and to others, often referred to as restless or tantrums, where an angry person responds to a stressor with uncontrolled motor movements. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to apply nursing modality therapy: Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy in mental nursing care for clients with risk problems of violent behavior. The type of method used is descriptive qualitative in the form of case studies by providing nursing care to patients with risk problems of violent behavior. The way to overcome this problem is to provide generalist nursing actions by identifying the risk of violent behavior (causes, signs and symptoms, consequences), how to control anger with implementation strategies (SP) then proceed with the modality therapy given is progressive muscle relaxation to reduce stress. violent behavior. The results of the implementation showed that the implementation strategy (SP) carried out and the provision of progressive muscle relaxation were able to control anger in patients with the risk of violent behavior and reduce anxiety. The results of the evaluation showed that the patient was able to control his anger and reduced anxiety. It is expected that nurses can pay attention to the needs of patients with violent behavior so that problems in patients can be noticed and resolved.
