Abstract

The study aimed to determine the performance test on coconut grater using Low Frequency (LF) inverter with battery Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) 24V DC energy source. The research has been carried out in the Biosystems, Agricultural Energy and Drafting Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from February 2022 to April 2022. The research method used was a descriptive method and is presented in the form of tables or graphs by testing the coconut grated machine used a VRLA type battery with a DC voltage of 24 V which is converted used a LF Inverter into an AC voltage of 220 V (50 Hz). The source of energy in the VRLA battery came from solar panels. The experiment was carried out with four coconuts, each of which was split into two parts so that there were eight coconuts with eight repetitions on DC electric current and AC electric current. The results of the study obtained that the highest value of electric power at AC Coconut 2 was 190.55 W and the lowest value was at DC Coconut 3 at 144.11 W. The highest value of electrical energy demand is at AC Coconut 2 of 6.57 Wh, and the lowest value is at DC Coconut 1 of 5.02 Wh. The highest electrical voltage value is at AC Coconut 2 of 229 V, and the lowest value is at DC Coconut 3 of 223 V. The highest electric current value is at DC Coconut 4 of 0.90 A, and the lowest value is AC Coconut 3 of 0.765 A. The value of the highest working capacity of the grating machine at AC Coconut 3 was 7.95 kg/hour, and the lowest value was at DC Coconut 4 at 3.73 kg/hour. The highest value from the solar panel data was the sunlight intensity of 1205.2 W/m2, and the lowest was the sunlight intensity of 1007.37 W/m2.
