Abstract

The selection of active ingredients from pre-emergent herbicides and the use of appropriate doses is one of the factors that determine the success of weeds control. This research was conducted to determine the most effective active ingredients pre-emergent herbicides and to evaluate the impact of the active ingridient of herbicides of growth eucalyptus. The research was conducted from October 2021 until December 2021, at PT Bumi Andalas Permai, Sungai Baung, Air Sugihan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 8 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of without pre-emergent herbicides (T1), isoxaflutole 150 g ha-1 (T2), flumioxazine 100 g ha-1 (T3), flumioxazine 200 g ha-1 (T4), indaziflame & iodosulfuron 150 g ha-1 (T5), indaziflame & iodosulfuron 250 g ha-1 (T6), sulfentrazon 500 ml ha-1 (T7), sulfentrazon 750 ml ha-1 (T8). The results showed that the use of various active ingredients and pre-emergence herbicide doses had a very significant effect on weed cover, not significantly on the increase in plant height and stem diameter of eucalyptus plants. The results of identification and types of weeds after the study showed that there were 15 species of weeds, they were consisted of broadleaf, grass, sedges and fern. The important weeds in this study were Brachiaria mutica, Imperata cylindrica, Borreria alata, Mikania micrantha and Paspalum conjugatum. The highest Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) value from all treatments was Brachiaria mutica at 42.46 followed by Imperata cylindrica at 11.43. The pre-emergent herbicide with the active ingredient flumioxazine at a dose of 100 g ha-1 and flumioxazine at a dose of 200 g ha-1 resulted in plant toxicity.
