Abstract

Plant growth is important and must be maintained in an effort to care for plants, plant growth is very influential on the planting medium. Planting media in an effort to care for plants is plant pots. Plant pots as a planting medium are often found outdoors, such as gardens. However, plant pots can also be found indoors. Apart from being a planting medium, plant pots can also function as a planting medium that can beautify the room if placed in the room. Its function as a beautification of the room cannot be separated from the plants planted in the plant pots themselves. Plants that are usually planted in plant pots are usually ornamental plants whose function is also to beautify the room. But in addition to ornamental plants, plants that are often encountered in the room are plants that have benefits. An example of this plant is Lidah Mertua (Sansevieria). According to research conducted by several experts, Sansevieria plant is believed to have benefits as a plant that can break down harmful pollutants. Therefore, the author has the idea to design a plant pot that can help the growth and development of the Lidah Mertua (Sansevieria) plant life by making smart pots with an Internet of Think-based monitoring system that can make it easier for users to take care of Sansevieria plants. The monitoring system uses several sensors, namely the YL-69 sensor, DHT-11 whose function is to monitor temperature and soil humidity so that the nutritional and mineral needs of Sansevieria can be maintained.
