Abstract

THIS STUDY AIMS TO DETERMINE THE NUTRIENT STATUS AND TO DETERMINE SITE-SPECIFIC FERTILIZATION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PADDY FIELDS FOR RICE CULTIVATION IN SUKAJAYA VILLAGE, BUAY RAWAN DISTRICT, SOUTH OKU. THIS STUDY USES A DETAILED SURVEY METHOD WITH A SCALE OF 1:25000 AND LABORATORY ANALYSIS BY TAKING SOIL SAMPLES AT A DEPTH OF 0-20 CM. SOIL SAMPLES WERE TAKEN AS MANY AS SAMPLES WHERE EACH SAMPLE CONSISTED OF 3 DRILLING POINTS WHICH WERE THEN COMPOSITED, EACH SAMPLE REPRESENTING 5 HA OF LAND AREA. THE OBSERVED CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE SOIL ARE; PH, N-TOTAL, P AVAILABLE K AVAILABLE C-ORGANIC, CEC AND KB SOIL. THE RESULTS OF THE ANALYSIS OF SOIL PH WERE CLASSIFIED AS VERY ACIDIC TO ACIDIC, WHICH RANGED FROM (3.9 TO 4.9). THE CONTENT OF C-ORGANIC IS VERY LOW TO LOW, WHICH IS IN THE RANGE (0.04- 0.3%). THE AVAILABLE P WAS CLASSIFIED AS VERY LOW TO MODERATE IN THE RANGE (5.8 – 17.53 PPM). THE AVAILABLE K IS CLASSIFIED AS VERY LOW IN THE RANGE (0.12 CMOL KG-1 – 0.19 CMOL KG-1). FROM THE RESULTS OF THE ANALYSIS, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SITE-SPECIFIC NPK FERTILIZATION FOR RICE PLANTS WERE UREA FERTILIZER WITH DOSES RANGING FROM (163,04 – 478,26 KG HA-1 ), SP-36 FERTILIZER AT A DOSE OF (25,44 – 417,85 KG HA-1) AND KCL FERTILIZER WITH A DOSE OF (295,56 – 336,30 KG HA-1 ).
