Abstract

In this reseach, a study has been conducted on the effect of temperature on alumina synthesis by solvothermal method. Alumina was used as adsorbent of methyl red dye. Physicochemical analysis of the alumina was carried out through Braunanear Emmelt Teller (BET), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), pH Point Zero Charge (pH pzc).The influence of various adsorption parameters dossage of adsorbent contact time, and methyl red solution concentration were studied to the methyl red adsorption. The result showed that the alumina which synthesized at 600°C had the largest surface area with aluminium content of 88.1%. The value of pHpzc alumina is obtained at pH 8. The optimum condition of methyl red absorption was obtained at a weight of 0.15 gram, contact time 100 min and concentration of methyl red solution 50 mg/L. The adsorption isoterm was calculated based on Langmuir isoterm with the value of R² 0.9323 and adsorption capacity of 7,6511 mg/g
