Abstract

Pencak silat is a traditional Indonesian martial art that is the heritage of the Indonesian nation. As a country that became the birthplace of pencak silat martial arts, Indonesia does not yet have a forum that specifically accommodates international scale pencak silat competitions. Therefore, the design of the Pencak Silat Martial Arts Arena aims to facilitate pencak silat competition activities which are also equipped with training facilities that meet international standards that can support pencak silat competition activities to the fullest. This pencak silat martial arts arena is designed by prioritizing functional aspects. This pencak silat martial arts arena applies a post-modern concept which is expected to respond to the architectural development of surrounding buildings while still maintaining the locality of the Indonesian nation. The Pencak Silat Martial Arts Center is expected to be a forum for the Indonesian people to develop and maintain pencak silat and can host competitions for their own cultural heritage on an international scale.
