Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Taro (Xanthosoma sagittifolium L.) and Rice straw (Oryza sativa L.) bokashi fertilizers on the growth of Red Spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) and to find the best concentration of bokashi fertilizer for Red Spinach growth. The research was conducted in the village of Trimo Rejo, East OKU Regency. The research method used was an experimental method with Completely Randomized consisting of five treatments and five designs. The treatment was in the form of giving bokashi fertilizer with different concentrations consisting of P0 (0%) as control, P1 (25%), P2 (50%), P3 (75%) and P4 (100%). The bokashi fertilizer used consisted of a mixture of 25% taro bokashi and 75% Rice straw bokashi. The research data were analyzed using the ANOVA test and the BJND and BNT follow-up tests. Concentration of bokashi fertilizer 25% is a better treatment to increase the growth of Red Spinach with an average plant height of 47.14 cm, number of leaves 13, leaf area 457.8 cm2, wet weight 39.44 grams, dry weight 2, 58 grams, root wet weight 4.18 grams, root dry weight 0.37 grams. Based on these results, it can be said that Taro bokashi fertilizer and Rice straw have an effect on the growth of Red Spinach. The results of this study are used as a source of information in learning biology class XII material on the growth and development of living things.
