Abstract

Fires are affected by workers, jobs, and the work environment. Workers are a very important component in fire prevention and take immediate action in the event of a fire. This study aims to evaluate the application of a fire safety system using the Computerized Fire Safety Evaluation System (CFSES) method in the building of the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University. This study of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, FSES worksheet and NFPA 101 checklist. There were 9 informants in this study consisting of 4 informants and 5 key informants. The results of the CFSES evaluation of 12 parameters in the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University. First, the Dean's Building of public health faculty control values (3.24 standard 12.5), exit (2.3 standard 7.5) and general fire safety scores (5.68 standard 13). Second, the Lecture Building on the control value (3.09 standard 12.5), exit (3.35 standard 7.5) and general fire safety score (8.23 standard 13). Third, the Student Center Building on the control value (2.59 standard 12.5), exit (0.8 standard 7.5) and general fire safety score (4.18 standard 13). Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that in general it is not considered reliable in terms of fire protection and fire protection. However, this system is prone to failure because there are still shortcomings in the fire and fire spread control system, which means that in general the fire safety system owned by the Faculty of Public Health Building still needs to improve the protection system in the Sriwijaya University Faculty of Public Health Building that does not meet NFPA standards. 101 Life Safety Code.
