Abstract

Bengkulu Basin has many aspects of geology that can be studied, especially the current geological conditions and historical development in the past. The research area is located in the area of Tanjung Aur II and its surroundings, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province at the coordinates of S 4° 12 '36" - 4° 17' 50" and E 102° 54 '22" - l 02° 59' 20" with an area of 81 km2 and a map scale of 1: 25,000. This study aims to determine the geological conditions that include aspects of geomorphology, stratigraphy, and geological structure in the study area. The research method used surface geology mapping and supported by laboratory analysis. Several steps on the method used are, preliminary stages, field stages, stages of laboratory analysis and studio work, as well as stages of preparation of reports. The geomorphology unit of the study area consists of three forms of land with four units namely, fluvial land with floodplain units, denudational land with denudational terrain units and denudational hills, and structural land with structural hill units. Stratigraphy research area is grouped into three formations with sequence from old to young namely Seblat Formation, Lemau Formation and Simpang Aur Formation. Geological structure in the research area is divided into two, namely folds and faults. The directional trending structure is relatively west-south-east and there are seven folds. The faults system is relatively northeast-south-west and there are five faults. Formation of geological structure in the study area is divided into two periods namely the period of formation of folds and fault rises and the formation of downward fault.
